The Lone Star and Reedy football teams moved higher in the rankings after starting the season with impressive victories.

Lone Star, which beat Richland 42-2 on Friday, rose one spot to No. 2 in The Dallas Morning News' 5A area rankings. The Rangers are also No. 6 in the Associated Press 5A state rankings, up two spots from a week ago.

Reedy, which beat Plano West 46-14 on Friday, moved up two spots to No. 7 in The Dallas Morning News' 5A area rankings. The Lions will play No. 18 The Colony on Thursday.
