The Reedy football team improved its record to 2-1 on Friday as the Lions beat Argyle Liberty Christian 42-13 on Friday at FISD Memorial Stadium.

The Lions had been previously scheduled to play Denton Ryan, but that game was canceled because Ryan had players in quarantine after a COVID-19 case at the school.

Liberty Christian took Ryan's place, and Reedy took advantage of the opportunity to play. The Lions took control with the passing of A.J. Padgett (336 yards, 3 touchdowns) and a rushing attack that spread the work out to a lot of ball carriers. Jacob Smith rushed 7 times for 95 yards and two touchdowns.

Reedy's defense stymied Liberty Christian most of the game. Ryan Jones and Michael Swope each made seven tackles for Reedy.

Reedy next plays on Thursday (Oct. 15) against Heritage. The game is at 7:30 p.m. at Ford Center.
