FISD | 10/22/2020

It's been a great start to the football season for Frisco ISD, with three teams still undefeated, five teams in The Dallas Morning News 5A rankings and several teams off to their best starts in years.

A month into the season, Frisco, Lebanon Trail and Wakeland are still unbeaten. Frisco (3-0) started last season with seven straight wins, but the last time Wakeland (4-0) started the season with four wins was in 2017. Lebanon Trail (4-0) has already equaled the combined total of wins from its first two varsity seasons in 2018 and 2019.

Frisco is No. 5 in The Dallas Morning News (SportsDayHS) 5A area rankings, joined by Lone Star (10th), Lebanon Trail (13th), Independence (14th) and Wakeland (18th). Every FISD varsity football team has at least one win, and Liberty (3-1) is off to its best start in nine years.

District play continues this week for FISD schools, who are divided into two districts for football. District 5-5A Division I includes Centennial, Heritage, Independence, Lone Star, Reedy and Wakeland, while District 7-5A Division II includes Frisco, Lebanon Trail, Memorial and Liberty. Four teams from each district will make the playoffs.

COVID-19 mitigation guidelines require attendance to be well below capacity at FISD venues, but tickets are still available to the general public starting on Wednesday morning each week here:

Additionally, all home football games are streamed at www.nfhsnetwork.com.
